Marquee Wedding FAQ’s

Our most popular Frequently asked questions

Hiring a marquee for the first time can be daunting, especially for your wedding. Here we try and cover some of the most popular questions that we get asked on a daily basis. Don’t worry, if we haven’t answered your question here then you can always call or email us!

  • First we need to come out and survey your chosen site and work with you to create the layout. Once everything is finalised we will raise a deposit invoice for you to proceed with your booking.

A deposit of 30% of your order value is required to book and until payment s received we cannot take your chosen date off the market.

We then ask that your final balance payment is made to us no later than 14 days prior to your install date

  • Sadly not however we do allow customers to make monthly payments in to us n order to whittle down their balance on a month by month basis. This has proven to be helpful for a lot of customers and allows them to budget appropriately each month rather than paying a deposit now and being lumped with a large sum 14 days out from their wedding / event.

To do this you’ll need to set up a standing order each month - please speak to an account manager for more information.

  • Sadly we do not get involved with venue finding as we are simply too busy. We do however have a list of recommended venues where we have worked previously that are suitable for Marquees.

Its worth baring in mind that choosing a venue over private land is a slightly more expensive option as venues will often charge ground rent and some may tie you into their preferred caterer.

  • The cost of your marquee can vary depending on various factors, including the size of the marquee, the additional services required (such as furnishings, lighting, flooring, catering tents, toilets, generators), the location, and the duration of the hire. As a starting point you can check out our package prices and then submit an enquiry for a more tailored quote.

  • We ask for a 30% none refundable deposit to reserve your date and essentially take it off the market. This is, as it says, none refundable. Depending on how late you leave it to cancel nearer the time of your event more of your agreed balance could become payable. Its best to read over our terms once you receive your initial quotation from us.

Naturally we don’t stock absolutely everything and some of your more personalised furnishings will need to come from dedciated bespoke suppliers.

  • The availability of suitable locations for setting up a marquee depends on local regulations and permissions.

For a wedding that plans on having entertainment and / or alcohol you will need to apply for a temporary events notice, even if this is on your own land, just so the local authorities and emergency services know that there will be a large amount of people gathered at a said location on a said date. We can run you through the process! Other than that there are no restrictions providing you have the landowners permission!

  • The duration of marquee wedding hire can vary, depending on the agreement we have with you. Usually speaking we give you 1 full day prior to your wedding to be able to get access to the marquee and for your other suppliers to start setting up and we give you the day after your wedding to remove any of your belongings and for your suppliers to remove their equipment. If you need longer this is an option for an additional charge.

  • Marquees are designed to withstand various weather conditions, including rain, wind and Snow However, in case of extreme weather warnings we may instruct you not to enter the marquee and as a result may even have to dismantle part of the structure if we feel it might cause a danger to life or property.

We might add that this has never happened in our 15 years + of experience and is always a last resort, however if a storm of 85+ mph wind gusts are heading your way we’d have no choice!

As we’d had setup and done what we are paid to do there would be no refund on our part, all this is outlined in our terms of service but a good wedding insurer would cover you financially for this eventuality!

  • You are required to have insurance coverage for your marquee wedding hire.

As good etiquette you should always have wedding insurance anyway to protect you as you will be dealing with numerous suppliers when organising an outdoor wedding.

We will ask you for confirmation that you have insured our structure and any equipment on hire from us for the value we have stated, alternatively you can insure our structure and its content from us directly.
